Musaica Chamber Music Composition Workshop

The application deadline for the next chamber music composition workshop will be March  1, 2023. The winning composer's work will be premiered by Musaica in a future concert! 

Here are the details of the contest:

Open to all college students from the Southeastern region of Louisiana. 

Composers should submit a recent work for chamber ensemble (generally 3 to 10 players).  

Members of Musaica and a committee of local professional composers will look at the scores submitted and select the winner, who will be announced at our final performances in April, 2023.  The winning student will receive the opportunity to write a new work for Musaica.  During the course of the following season, the musicians from Musaica who are playing the piece will workshop it with the student and edit it as necessary to prepare it for a final performance.
